“Establishing Collaborative Community Oversight”
The NAMI Arizona Board of Directors invites you to attend and participate in our 2016 Annual Meeting and Celebration scheduled for Saturday January 30th, 2016 at the Ability360 Conference Center 5025 E. Washington St. Phoenix, AZ 85034 from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. (This meeting is free to NAMI members, $35 for Nonmembers (free membership included), with no charge for low income, first responders, government officials and legislators. Light morning refreshment and free lunch will be provided. Contact Jim Dunn at jimdunnaz@msn.com for more information. Sponsorships are available and provide an excellent opportunity to highlight intentional partnering and collaborative determination.)
Our 2016 annual event, “Establishing Collaborative Community Oversight,” recognizes that in today’s economic reality, government cannot afford to fully fund and staff all programs, especially those that promote mental health. Therefore we must maintain and strengthen the powerful relationships and intentional partnering between NAMI Arizona, Affiliates, State Government, and community partners that has evolved during recent years. We intend to facilitate comprehensive discussion, determination, and action planning by using the collective voice and experience of the many existing powerful collaborative, coalition, alliance, and like-minded groups to promote oversight, supervision and support to the behavioral health, criminal justice, and corrections systems.
We value the community’s continued strong support of NAMI Arizona which has allowed us to strengthen our efforts at education and advocacy at the State and Affiliate level. For example, we have forged relationships with key leadership in all three branches of Arizona State government, veteran, police, fire, prosecutors, judges, crisis providers, individuals, families, and communities from across the State to educate and advocate for persons and families confronting mental illness. Through these efforts, we hope to eliminate gaps in care contributing to the unfortunate and ever evolving cycle of mental illness, homelessness, incarceration, imprisonment, emergency room holds, and access to care challenges.
Thank you for all you do for those we serve and for your unwavering support!
We look forward to joining you at our 2016 Annual Meeting and Celebration January 30th and continuing our collaborative partnering throughout the year.
Thanks, Jim
